Autumn Weight Loss Review

Most of us resolve to lose weight when the new year rolls around, but did you stick with it? Now that the year is almost over, are you any closer to your goal? When autumn comes around, we find we are no closer to our goals than we were in January. But why? Often we set to lofty of goals when the new year rolls in, and we become frustrated and bored after only a couple of weeks when we are not seeing results. Then the next year approaches and we are even more discouraged because we are nowhere near our goals. So how can we avoid this?
Set Smaller Goals
The key with any type of resolution is to set several small goals with an overall umbrella goal. What does this mean? Set a weight loss goal that you would like to meet or a diet and exercise plan you would like to establish, and have that be the overall umbrella goal. From there, break down your umbrella goal into smaller, more feasible goals that you can reach each month. Setting your resolution as such will help keep you motivated. Let's face it: when you set a goal of losing 30 pounds in three months, it seems impossible and after a while you become frustrated when you are only ten pounds into your diet and exercise plan and you're over halfway through the year. However, if you set small obtainable goals for each month, you will see the results you desire and can keep motivated. It's a mind game with yourself. Reaching 5 pounds a month is a much more feasible goal than losing 30 pounds, but if you set that smaller goal, you can reach your bigger goal without problems. Psyche yourself out!
Keeping Motivated
Change up your exercise routine to keep yourself motivated. A stagnant exercise program can bore you quickly, and keep you from continuing. So change it up. One day go for a run, and the next, go for a bike ride. If you change your routine regularly, you are more apt to stick with your resolution. No one wants to do the same exercise routine every day, nor do they want to eat the same foods every day. Variety is the spice of life, so spice up your exercise goals. Each day, try a new recipe or new exercise to keep you engaged in your weight loss.
